I am not the answer. I can be a witness.
The work began with a life that looked capable from the outside and felt governed by fear inside.
Ouchie Origami turns one person's receipts into stories, maps, and practices without turning them into a universal prescription.
I built the thing I kept reaching for.
A story honest enough to recognize myself in. A map structured enough to use. A practice small enough to keep.
For a long time, competence hid the cost. Work moved. Problems got solved. People could count on me. Fear still had a hand on more decisions than I understood.
The way back was not one revelation. It was a long collection of evidence through memoir, diagnosis, recovery, fatherhood, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, friendship, reading, writing, and the repeated choice to look at what was actually there.
Ouchie Origami is where that evidence lives now. The story comes first. The framework gives it shape. The practice keeps it from becoming another idea that disappears by morning.
The method came after the life.
Nothing here starts with a theory pretending it arrived clean.

Receipt 01
High functioning was not the same as aligned.
The ability to perform made the private system harder to see. It did not make that system harmless.
-
Receipt 02
Information alone did not create change.
I could understand a pattern and still repeat it. The body, the environment, and the evidence all had to enter the room.

Receipt 03
Chosen difficulty gave fear somewhere honest to go.
Training offered pressure with consent, feedback without abstraction, and a place where small improvements could be felt.

Receipt 04
The journal remembered what my mood forgot.
A written record made realistic wins visible and gave difficult seasons a longer context.

Action sometimes arrived before motivation.
On ordinary days, one responsible action could create enough evidence for the next one. On crisis days, care and safety came first.
A practice where the truth arrives quickly.
The mat became one of the places where chosen challenge, community, humility, and realistic wins could be experienced rather than explained.
The work is not always to push harder.
HYROX is an indoor fitness race that pairs eight 1-kilometer runs with eight functional workout stations. The standardized course stays the same around the world, testing both endurance and strength against a clear, repeatable measure.
Fitness can be therapy. It can also be avoidance.
I have completed four solo men's HYROX races. Fitness has been a form of therapy for me, a place to regulate, recover, and build evidence that I can do difficult things.
It has also been a form of avoidance, a productive-looking place to hide. Journal practice and mindfulness are helping me notice the difference, find a healthier frame, and make room for balance without abandoning ambition.
Run 1 kilometer, complete one station, and repeat the sequence eight times.

Coaching made my own patterns harder to hide.
I have coached at F45 and in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Helping people meet challenge, build skill, and discover what they can do has been deeply rewarding.
It has also brought me face-to-face with people-pleasing, my need to be liked, and the boundaries required to support someone without disappearing into their approval.
The practice is learning to give from a place of choice rather than compulsion: from wounds that have been tended, not wounds asking other people to heal them.
A voice contract for every page.
The sentence should sound like someone sitting beside the reader, not standing over them.
Receipts before concepts.
“This is what happened to me” comes before “this is what it might mean.” Permission matters more than completion. A system can be incomplete without being bad.
No fake urgency. No clinical impersonation. No fear sharpened into a sales tool. Care brackets appear wherever diagnosis, medication, or crisis enters the story.
